Personal Landscape

The colors are messed up when I load it onto here, they're not really this trippy. I really enjoyed doing this project, my favorite part was scanning in the hand drawings do blend it in with the digital images. I think it gives it a cool effect.

Michael Fennen

My friend showed me this cool local graphic designer's website. He does some really amazing stuff. http://www.michaelfennen.com/

Guitar Pics

My original idea for this project was Snapple caps with the facts of the day on them but it wouldn't work, the scanner was making the text of the facts really blurry so i had to do this instead...

Chip Kidd Presentation

I thought that the Chip Kidd presentation was very interesting. It was cool to see how many ideas for each book cover he actually had to make sometimes. The flashing Santa Claus cracked me up too. It was especially interesting to me because I am planning to go into the graphic design major, and it was cool to see some more of the possibilities you have within that career.

Greg Cohen - Burly Beast

This is my friend Greg. A policeman once referred to him as "big and burly". I thought this transformation was appropriate.

Self Portrait Jean Style

Unfortunately the horrifying face is real, and the mustache is fake...

Self Portrait

I wanted to punch Illustrator in the face during this project, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out in the end...except all the colors are wrong on it when I post it!!

Jean Ingres

Jean Ingres lived from August 24, 1780 to January 14, 1867. He died at age 86. Jean was a painter and a drawer, and is mostly known for his portraits, painted and drawn. I am most interested in his drawings. He seems to create great detail in the portraits face, and gradually draws less detail to areas like the body and backround.

Waking Life Video Response

The video we watched in class was really cool to watch. Its crazy to think that each scene was done by a different artist but you can definitely tell by the variations in style from scene to scene. I didn't really understand what was actually going on story wise in the video and some of the scenes were just creepy, like when the guy set himself on fire or in the bar when the two guys shot each other. Besides that, I thought it was an interesting video to watch that was relevant to our class.

Jille's Interesting Websites

I found ScratchPad to be a really fun website. Whoever visits the site is automatically part of the sketch and you can add whatever funny things you want to the drawing.

Art Forum was interesting. It had a lot of art news on it including museum previews and gallery reviews. It's a good place to go to learn about current events happening in the art world.

Ordinary Comics is another fun site to visit. I thought it was cool how the artist incorporates a bunch of different mediums into each comic and adds a new one almost every day.

Helvetica

I found the video we watched about Helvetica font to be interesting. Even though some of the guys being interviewed seemed a little too enthused over the phenomenon known as helvetica, I never realized how many company's use that font in their logo's. Staples and American Airlines were among the many examples displayed in the video.
The 6 word memoir was interesting to think about. It was hard to describe myself only using 6 words, but I think the one I came up with fits!
